Wallpaper Installation Guide

Wallpaper Installation Guide

RogueWalls murals are designed to make a wall feel like a finished art installation. The final result depends on the quality of the product and the quality of the installation. Please read this guide before applying your wallpaper.

Before You Install

  • Inspect every panel before installation.
  • Confirm all panels are present and in order.
  • Check for visible damage, print defects, or sizing issues.
  • Review the wall surface for texture, moisture, dust, or paint problems.

Do not install if anything appears incorrect. Installation is considered acceptance of the product.

Professional Installation Recommended

For full-wall murals, large-format panels, commercial projects, luxury interiors, textured walls, or multi-panel artwork, we strongly recommend hiring a professional wallpaper installer.

Wall Surface Preparation

Your wall should be smooth, clean, dry, dust-free, and properly primed. Freshly painted walls should fully cure before installation. Many paints require several weeks to cure, so avoid applying wallpaper immediately after painting.

  • Remove dust, grease, and residue.
  • Fill holes and sand rough patches.
  • Prime porous or uneven surfaces.
  • Avoid installation over heavy texture.
  • Do not apply directly to damp or unstable walls.

Peel-and-Stick Wallpaper

Peel-and-stick materials are designed for easier installation and removability under proper conditions. They work best on smooth, clean, painted, and fully cured walls.

Peel-and-stick wallpaper is not recommended for heavily textured walls, high-humidity areas, unprimed surfaces, flaking paint, or walls exposed to direct moisture.

Panel Alignment

Large murals are printed in panels for production, shipping, and installation. Install panels in the correct order and use a level to keep the design straight. Minor seam visibility can occur and is considered normal with custom mural production.

Room Conditions

Install in a room with stable temperature, moderate humidity, and proper ventilation. Avoid installation in rooms with ongoing moisture issues or extreme temperature swings.

Installer Responsibility

RogueWalls is not responsible for installation errors, surface preparation issues, installer fees, or damage caused during application. When in doubt, consult a professional installer before beginning.
